In typical fashion, she greeted him at the door with a smile. Stepping aside to let him entire and making the usual offering of a drink if he was parched, or a snack if he was feeling peckish. It was a kindness afforded to all who visited her, expected or not, but there was a stark difference when it came to this particular young man in question. A sort of motherly urge to take care a soothe such a troubled soul, if one had to put a description to it.

Others strayed away from Bison when he walked the street. Whispering in hushed tones how he was a 'terrible influence' or 'shouldn't be allowed to walk the town'. Mamako had heard it all, but instead of turning her back on him like all the others, she welcomed him with open arms.

It wasn't that she had been particularly close to his family, or anything like that. There was just...something about him that caught her attention. Something that had latched onto her and pulled her in. Earning his trust and getting him to open up, even just a little, had been a tough journey, but they had finally reached a sort of understanding with one another. The type that allowed for personal visits to each other's home on occasion. Like today.
